Makaton Foundation Workshop

Makaton Foundation Workshop

The Foundation Workshop (Makaton training for professionals) provides a detailed introduction to the Makaton language programme. Delivered over four 3-hour modules, the course balances practical signing sessions with lectures discussing the supporting theory. This includes research into sign and symbol use, symbol design themes, the use and purpose of Makaton, and an overview of alternative systems of communication.  Participants will learn the Makaton signs and symbols from Stages 1-4 and Additional of the Core Vocabulary.
